LG is now moving to the android market by its upcoming android versions, and it will soon become one among the leading manufacturer of android smart mobiles. Today Microsoft announced that it have signed a license with Korean smart mobile manufacturer LG for its android versions, likewise Microsoft had also signed treaty with HTC and Samsung for their advanced android and chrome version tablets and smart mobiles.
The corporate vice president and deputy general counsel, Intellectual Property Group at Microsoft, Horacio Gutierrez said in a press-meet that 70% of android mobiles sold out in United States are licensing Microsoft patents and moreover he added that “We are pleased to have built upon our longstanding relationship with LG to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. Together with our 10 previous agreements with Android and Chrome OS device manufacturers, including HTC, Samsung and Acer, this agreement with LG means that more than 70 percent of all Android smart phones sold in the U.S. are now receiving coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio,” he also added that “We are proud of the continued success of our program in resolving the IP issues surrounding Android and Chrome OS.”The treaty signed up between two companies adds a greater advantage for both, so they sign-up mutually beneficial agreements. This also increases the sales percentage of the android mobiles as it attracts both the customers of Microsoft and LG
According to the news leaks, LG is also satisfied with this mutually beneficial treaty, The LG spokesman Ken Long said “We’re of course pleased we could come to amicable terms with Microsoft, whom LG has had a great working relationship with for years. This agreement allows both companies to move beyond the legal issues and get on with doing what both companies do best, which is developing products and delivering services that benefit consumers.”
