Almost everybody forgets about the maintenance of their phone. Like computer, our phone also will be clogged off due to over storage. In computer due to large space the performance will get affected only after a long period. But in android phone due to small space the performance of the phone will be affected soon. If your phone starts to work slow then this might be the reason. So in order to avoid this you should maintain your phone properly which can be done in multiple ways like freeing up space in your phone so that your phone will get back to you with the original speed. If you are confused of the clutters in your phone and where to look after it then follow the below steps to get rid of this.
Messaging database:
Even messages will make your phone to work slowly. There are options in android phones to save messages as much as possible according to the users wish. But anyway saving messages more will result in clutter and so you can save your important messages to Gmail. This can be done by the following steps.
First look to the message which you need to keep in your phone and which you consider as the important one.
After choosing the thread, keep on pressing it so that a list appears.
In that list choose, forward option. As soon as you do this you will see a address bar in which you have to type the Gmail account address.
As a result the message will be forwarded to the Gmail application and you can look after to the messages when ever needed as the messages are now saved in Gmail application.
After doing all these you can now head over to the messages and again long press that message so that a list will be generated. Select delete option in that list. But before deleting make sure that the messages are saved in Gmail account. Because once deleted it is not possible to bring it back. Once deleted your phone will be free now and will have some space and so it will start working as usual.
E-mail databases:
If you are accessing the mail in your phone through the internet availability then again clutter will happen due to mail in your device. As usual as done above for messaging, you can now do the same for e-mail also. Saving your mail in Gmail is better as there are lot of space to save it. You can keep on saving the mail in the Gmail account and no need to delete anything in this Gmail account as there is more space available.
Application cache:
The applications in your device which access the internet have cache some where in the phone. Most of the application will be storing this cache in the SD card. But the Google application will be stored in the device itself. It will be stored in the place where you have installed the application. This application will obviously accumulate more space. The application that accesses the internet will have a setting which will delete the cache present. Go and delete the cache. Make sure that you are deleting the one which is not important to you. By doing this there will be a free space of about 10-12 Mb. Some application having a cache will actually be a benefit to you. Especially the application which are stored in SD card. For example if you use twidroid pro application this is saved in your SD card will have the profile picture of the people. This twidroid uses the data that will pop the profile pictures of the people without downloading it. It just takes a look at the profile pictures and if does not have any change, then it just start loading from SD card. As a result it will have a big list of people whom you are following. Many more applications like IM clients and twitters will save the image in this way in your SD card.
The storage card:
We use SD card to store all the necessary data’s or files that can’t be stored if the phone memory is full. Storing a lot of data’s in SD card will also make your device to slow down that is it will result in slow down of the scanning process. When ever you unmount your SD card to copy files or data from the computer and remount to make it back as a phone the phone starts to scan all the pictures, music, or videos you have copied. If this scanning process is very slow then it means there is clutterness in your SD card and some files are to be deleted to make the scanning process work as usual. This must be done when ever there is a slow down in the scanning process. Don’t worry of deleting your files because it can be recreated. Another big problem in SD card is that you will have a lost directory. When ever you mount your SD card to the computer and delete anything, the last directory will get placed here. It gets deleted when you have correctly unmount the SD card from the computer. But you might forget and just pull out the SD card and remount the SD card back to the device then the things which are lost wont be deleted. If you forget to unmount the SD card from the computer it might cause some problem to the card as well as the computer. So it is better to remember it. For example if you have a toshiba laptop and in this laptop if you don’t unmount the SD card properly then some problem like the drives in the laptop might get deleted. Then the only way to get back to the laptop is that you should restart the laptop. Restarting is always a big issue since restarting process will be too slow. So in order to avoid this be careful and always keep in mind to unmount the SD card properly, and then you can remount it back to the phone.
These steps hopefully will help to keep your android phone speedy. It is advisable to wipe your phone once in a month. But wiping out the messages can be done once in a week, so that your phone wont get slow and you can enjoy the speed process of your phone.
